Commiserations To Darn

I have started modding for Fallout: New Vegas. The beautiful thing about Gamebryo games, Oblivion in particular, is that they are broken as holy bejesus, and yet there exists an exquisite panopoly of tools with which to fix them. And many people, working for no money and at times little recognition, change these games into something that is entirely their own, and give it to other people. I was one of those people, and in my quotidian boredom I wanted to give something back.

I started with this, a small tweak that changes the starting outfit from a lurid, clownish Vault Suit to something dustier and more appropriate to the games arid setting. Some people have messaged me saying there is no justification for this mod, as the player always begins garbed in a Vault Suit in Fallout games. It is tradition.

Fuck tradition. It looks retarded, and there is only the flimsiest explanation as to why it is there.

And, as if to prove my own forward-thinking and preening excellence, PC Gamer US included it in their 25 best Fallout mods. I am not actually sure why, though it may have something to do with the fact the game came out 2 weeks ago, and anything worth downloading is a way off.

You can grab it, if you wish, at Fallout: New Vegas Nexus, though I am planning an update, so you may wish to wait.
